Apprenticeship and Training Representative (ATR)

The Apprenticeship and Training Representative is the federal employee of the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (BAT) who provides technical assistance, at no cost, to:

  • apprentices;
  • individuals interested in related skills training;
  • potential/existing program sponsors;
  • related instruction providers; and
  • local, State and Federal government representatives of employment and training programs.

For individuals, the ATR can provide orientation on registered apprenticeship and other related skill training programs, and referral to program sponsors or related instruction providers. The ATR also assists in assuring that the sponsor complies with the standards of apprenticeship including equal employment and training opportunities during the apprenticeship.
